Designed to ignite the spark of learning in children, Weekend Wonders offers a diverse array of engaging activities tailored to cater to their academic needs and interests.

Program Coordinator

Hind Kassem, a Lebanese Canadian, possesses over fifteen years of expertise within not-for-profit organizations, serving as a social worker dedicated to assisting children and their families in local communities. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the Lebanese University in 1995. Hind received an Honours Bachelor in Social and Community Development from Sheridan College in 2024.
Eventually settling in Canada in 2009, she founded the Ajyaluna Centre for Education. The Centre’s primary objective was to nurture the educational advancement of diverse children while preserving language heritage within the community.
Driven by a passion for community engagement and impactful initiatives, Hind commenced her tenure at the Centre for Skills Development in 2013 as a settlement worker. Over the years, she transitioned into the role of Newcomer Community Connections Specialist, leveraging her extensive experience of over nine years in aiding newcomers.
Central to Hind’s role is her commitment to resourcefulness and assistance, manifested through the facilitation and implementation of multifaceted social programs for clients. Her active involvement in numerous social and settlement projects across Halton Region and its environs underscores her dedication. Notable contributions include her facilitation of programs like the Nobody’s Perfect Parent and New Horizons for Seniors.
Programs Schedule and Fees
Nurturing Minds with the Canadian Curriculum: 10:30 – 11:30
The classes are run for 2 months (8 sessions)
Fees: $200
These sessions focus on enhancing children’s understanding and engagement with key concepts in Math, Science, English, and Social Studies. Through interactive activities, worksheets, and multimedia resources, children will master important skills such as problem-solving and critical thinking, tailored to their individual grade levels.
Robotics: 11:30 – 12:30
The classes are run for 2 months (8 sessions)
Fees: $200
Children will engage in hands-on robotics activities, programming challenges, and problem-solving tasks. This session aims to foster creativity, logical thinking, and technological literacy in a fun and interactive environment.
Art Classes: 11:30 – 12:30
The classes are run for 2 months (8 sessions)
Fees: $200
In these sessions, children will explore art techniques, create nature inspired and cultural art works. This fun supportive environment fosters creativity, self-expression, and confidence, culminating in group sharing and feedback sessions. Let’s inspire young artists together.
Arabic Language and Culture: 12:30 – 1:30
The classes are run for 2 months (8 sessions)
Fees: $160
Through storytelling, music, art, and calligraphy, children will immerse themselves in the Arabic language and culture. These sessions aim to develop basic vocabulary, comprehension skills, and cultural appreciation among participants.
Islamic Studies: 1:30 – 2:30
The classes are run for 2 months (8 sessions)
Fees: $120
Covering fundamental aspects of Islamic studies, these sessions are tailored to the children’s age and understanding. The objectives include promoting religious awareness, moral values, and cultural understanding in a supportive and inclusive environment.
French Language: 2:30 – 3:30
The classes are run for 2 months (8 sessions)
Fees: $160
Children will be introduced to basic French language skills through interactive games, songs, and activities. The sessions focus on building vocabulary, improving pronunciation, and enhancing language fluency in a fun and engaging way.
Parents have the option to select one or more program for their kid(s).
Customizable learning sessions are also available allowing flexibility for families – to be discussed with the Program Coordinator.

JCHAC Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation with a refund must be requested at least 14 days before your child’s program begins. There are no refunds for cancellations requested less than 14 days before the program begins.
