Saikou approaches teaching holistically where history and culture are a part of the hands on drumming lessons; he believes this style of teaching builds healthy individuals as well as healthy communities Along with teaching, Saikou has owned and operated African Drums and Art Crafts located in Kensington Market for over 20 years. As an elder in the African, Gambian and Drumming Communities in Toronto, he has been an important figure to many community endeavors and events.
