Art from the Heart-2022

February 10th – April 10th

Art for Healing is the focus of Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre’s Studio.
Our art is original, honest and powerful.
We have spent decades inventing, inspiring and exhibiting
work by artists from Community Living Oakville.
Everything has been documented with lesson plans, photographs and videos.
These artists have been trained with materials and techniques to access and make visible their Artist Within.
This Years Art From The Heart includes two artists healed by art at Joshua Creek Studio. Sybil Rampen’s Father Captain Hugh Calverley, whose greatest joy and satisfaction stemmed from his art.
The other is Dr. Zaborowska who, at the end of her life, found her Artist Self and shared it with her friends.
This annual Art From the Heart is more than a show.
It is life-giving with its search for identity, creativity and hope.

BIKER EXAMPLE LESSONS

Sketchbook

Pencil
Pick a motorbike,
examine it and learn how it is made.
Start by roughly sketching its wheels connect them, find the seat, then the steering wheel.
Draw a biker on it: does not have to be a human: a dragon, a monster, a dog, a robot.
Fun!

Pen
Work into your drawing with a thin sharpie.
Xerox the drawing.

Plate
Create a landscape, city scape, mountain scape, or seascape for your bike to travel.
Take a ride.
Let it dry.
Print

Coloured markers
Colour your Bike Xerox.
Cut it out.
Drive it to your print
Glue it on.

Dream
Think biker, make a wish list of the places you would like to see.
Go by Google!
