Studio & House

For 50 years Sybil Rampen had a vision. Her lifelong goal has been to establish a cultural legacy on her family farm for the future generations of Halton to be inspired. Located on Burnhamthorpe Road, 1 km east of Trafalgar Road in Oakville, the Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre serves the community as a place of gatherings—from creative media workshops, films, musical events, and lectures to weddings. The Centre serves as a place where individuals meet to learn, collaborate, and cultivate relationships with one another. This emerging cultural facility promotes local heritage, outreach and accessibility, with ecological integrity being central to the activities of the Centre.

The 1827 heritage house has been expanded to host large groups in a social setting. Joshua Creek Centre has sun-filled workshop rooms where people can come to work in a variety of artistic media and techniques in a picturesque setting. This addition connects the original house to  The Winter Garden which features a boardroom for small meetings.

The Press Room features a studio complete with printmaking and fibre arts facilities. In the rear of the building, breathtaking views of the Joshua Creek are provided by The Studio, a large workshop most often filled with like-minded artists who produce an amazing energy. Above The Studio is The Loft, an arts & crafts library and workspace.

Below The Studio, the Lower Lounge offers another meeting space, equipped with smart TV, computer desk, meeting table and comfortable seating.

The Woodshop and heritage Bank Barn are being preserved for future use as a public space.
