Gentle yoga is designed to serve a variety of distinct needs: from people with movement limitation to recovery from illness or surgery. It also appeals to those seeking stress reduction or people who want to reconnect with their body and their breath. This non-invasive approach also provides relief for people who are affected by fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and mood disorder, as they reach a state were their flight or fight state can relax in a safe space.

 

Gentle yoga is less intrusive, non strenuous, quiet, meditative and restorative. It is often perceived as easier, however it is more challenging for the mind, as we are not moving fast, which allows our thoughts to resurface.

About France Theriault-Martin

I am a passionate being, interested to learn, grow and expand my horizons. I believe in possibilities even in the ugliness of challenges. You can find beauty in it and explore the silver lining of the lesson to be learned.  Yoga is my sanctuary; it helps me to stay grounded and I love the connections that grow between each others in our practice. I offer a spiritual practice combined with gentle movements, breath work as well as meditation. My teaching is based on my own practice and my desire to heal from a tragic cycling accident that altered the course of my life and brought me where I am today!

I am looking forward to welcoming you to my class at Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre in September!
