Art Therapy for Grief, Loss & Spirituality

Tuesdays  10:00am – 11:30 am

Session 1  – Sept 4 – Oct 23

Session 2  – Oct 30 – Dec 18

This is a core program established at JCHAC. In this introduction to group art therapy, we will explore being mindful as an easy self-care approach through easy to follow art-making directives. Art-making allows the release of present and hidden emotions in a positive, creative setting. You will develop an appreciation of your relationships, and welcome the process of finding new meaning to honour them. A gentle exploration of self-meaning will help transform hidden feelings that require a release, or mindful attention to them, to better cope with one’s challenging life events. An interview will determine readiness to explore one’s grief, loss or bereavement in a group setting. Other options will be discussed if a group setting is not suitable.
